Let's look at who these religious fanatics are beheading. I think there's a careful selection process going on. The victims aren't military, but they aren't exactly disengaged private citizens and tourists. For the most part, they're military subcontractors. Paul Johnson in Saudi and the Korean interpreter near Fallujah were employed in that role. The Korean interpreter who was beheaded this week was apparently a devout Christian, hence the murderers' statements about the defense of monotheism.

Nick Berg, an American Jew, had no official role in Iraq and he should have taken a military transport out of there when he had the chance. Strikes me as a naive kid who thought Iraq was already free and open for business. Maybe a bit like Daniel Perle in Pakistan two years ago--a Jewish reporter who followed a dangerous story too far out into the field.

I found this interesting blog called "The Sacred Muslim Practice of Beheading" by Andrew Bostom at http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=13371

These beheadings--graphic pics and all--are playing with a lot more impact in the Muslim world than in our own. Did you know that many Muslims still do blood sacrifices of animals? It's a really brutal religious culture.
