On the Exer Board, Kerry wrote the following: "To be truely honest I love the truth of the word even if it comes from the Fam Why did it get linked with bullshit."
IMO, one of the most dangerous beliefs TF holds and teaches is the idea that someone else can hear from God for you. I'm not debating whether or not some people are specially gifted with revalatory power. What I'm saying is that no living human being stands before God for me or knows God's will for me. (While I'm at it, no living human being can judge me in the sight of God, either. If you think queers are damned to hell, just keep your personal revelations & interpretations to yourself, because only God can judge the rightness or wrongness of my love for others.)
Because of this Family belief/teaching that there are prophets and teachers who know God's will for people other than themselves, people in TF are easily convinced that the individual voice of conscience and reason is "the enemy."
The belief that there are prophets who can reveal God's will for people other than themselves reduces the follower's reason & conscience to "the flesh mind." At the same time, the leader's thoughts are equated with the "spiritual mind."
Well, here's authentic Christian teaching as I understand it: Every single person baptised in the Spirit--even the most ignorant & illiterate of people--has been given a spiritual mind that is nurtured by God-given reason & conscience. Not a single one of us needs an external authority to tell us the mind of Christ or the will of God.
