This opinion could be considered SR, but what I wonder is why some people have such a hard time getting over the past? I realise that some pretty bad shit went down, and we all have been damaged in ways, some in ways unspeakable, others in ways easier repaired. But at some point we have to put it behind us or else we never can get on with the present life.
I don't mean to imply that our past will never again haunt us or that our past is to be completely forgotten, or that our past is of no importance in bringing us to the place we are today. But I do mean to imply that at some point we must put that past in its place and stop bringing it into our present. It gets kind of pathetic if we continue to do so.
So, how did you all put your past behind you, and would you have some tips for those who are having an esp. more difficult time doing so?
