I've also seen what you describe and I don't think what George answered contradicts it. The New Age shops I have visited have all kinds of products and not everything is related to the occult or related to spiritualism. I think for a Christian there is a fine line to walk about these issues because many of the practices resemble Christianity with prayers and attitudes. I didn't use to think this way but the last few months I have been observing a co-worker who from being a good Christian has turned into using herbs and charms. She didn't explicitly tell me about it until I figured it out but it was a small surprise because of the way she behaves publicly. It reminded me of TF, publicly a nice organization but once they close the door behind their doctrines take over.
