Acheick, often we like to discuss things, but somewhere, some time we have to make , with God's help decisions, like some don't work on Sabbath Friday/Saturday, others - woman - wear some veil/cloth you name it to cover their head while praying...also what about loving our neighbour, like the Samaritan...
Thought/theory influences your actions...so sooner or later you'll have to say, this is symbolic, this isn't...obviously in your own family there seem to be differences of opinions & approaches...like it happens to be often the case in Christianity...there might be things though, we can procastinate, put off until the last day...
