Hello PD,thanks for expressing your true feelings.
I agree with you that the experience that most of your generation went trough was horrible, after reading most posts I can truly say that I feel really sorry for what you went thru
I personally also went trough some horrible time in my life ,and not all of them in the Fam.some of them in my personal fam. before I joined.
All I could say it's that In and out of the Fam. bad things happen everyday in the name of God Look at Bush's war in the name of God ,many kids dead in the name of God,and if you go to the past many religious wars in the name of God,even jesus said that some will persecute and kill us thinking that they are doing God's service.
Here's what I'd like to share with you .
Since you have some knowledge of oriental religions, you must also be aware of this thing called Karma,so if you somewhat follow oriental faith you still need to accept what's happening in your life ,and not escape your Karma ,as Buddah or whoever you want to call it ,has designed your life for your happiness....
My point is this whatever faith you follow ,most faith ,Orientals or not believe in some higher beeing in control of this universe. Most faith believe in the idea of blessings or curses,in their lives or whatever you want to call it according to each individual choices.
Indians folks believe in not trying to change their course of life ,if they are born poor they believe it's God plan for their life to stay this way and may be in many rebirths they will become rich or maybe turn into some animals ,who knows ,but the point beeing that they need to be satisfied with their Karma in this life and time in the universe,or place in history or whatever you want to call it.
So we're all in the same boat.I personally wouldn't blame God for my problems ,but then again I didn't go through your experience.
May be if you could detach yourself from all this past ,from what your parents or fam. leaders did in the Fam. and try to give God a chance maybe He could try something new that you didn't see before .
For ex. what if I constantly look at you the way you were when you were in the Fam. the character you were when in the Fam. then I wouldn't be able to see the new wonderfull you that you're now.I say this because I know how different I've personally been in the Fam. in some quality of leader team work or home sheperd or whatever and how I'm now .it's a day and night change for the better.
My point is this, you're unique and exist for a unique purpose .For some unknown reason yet ,you were born in the Fam.,you had to endure and suffer many things in that environement that brought you to the person you are today. you can understand abused people, you can understand many things that most folks in this day and age can't understand and I think you have a special past and training that can be used to help and do a lot of good in this world.I begg to differ with you in this idea that God has forgotten you.
I personally believe that He's been with me all along ,even in my darkest times in the Fam.or out of the Fam.;those were my choices.Like you I didn't decide the set of parents that brought me on this planet but I still need to accept that God or Buddah or whoever you want to name it has a purpose in it.
Now I make my own decision,I got out of that train and I make my own itinerary;but I still need to accept the rules when I make a mistake,it's me and not God that fxxxxup.
When I used to live in India ,I would sometimes go through the blues in my situation, single, always same ministry, same hard leaders ,same routine, same narrow minded doctrines,ect.....,no end to it.
Then I would end up taking a taxi seeing bunch of beggar kids coming to me with some beautifull eyes and beautifull smiles and I would feel stupid ;other times I'd go to the market and see some poor parents with some nice smile or some crippled beggars with some smile on their face ....
you get the point,I did realise then that basically all of us in this world are served at birth a set of cards to play the game of life.
God loves us all I wouldn't debate about this .
That it really doesn't feel like it sometines I would agree with you.
That's were we need faith to help us trough
Choose the kind of faith you like is up to you.
All this to say that I love you and He does too!
