Being Christian

We may be bordering the topic for GenX so I moved it to Journeys.

Let me say that the label of being Christian is, in my opinion, subjective. I consider myself a Christian simply because of my preference and basic set of beliefs. I find definitions at this level a bit troublesome. Because ideologies and preferences are too personal, and religion is a personal experience, general definitions might not cover all but the most general beliefs.

I know very little about other religions as belief systems but I suspect there is a some overlap on what most religions teach about social behavior. There may also be some overlap in areas of personal attributes, such as peace, joy, etc. There may also be some commonality on processes as well, such as types of meditation vs. prayer. All in all, different belief sets may already have some very healthy common ground, just as we do, as Christians.

If this is true, then Journeys already offers this gathering place for Christians and non-Christians.
