The Buddhist philosophy is a very scientific belief system and I never understood why an other worldly experience needed to be part of it in the form of reincarnation.
Buddhism stresses the interconnectedness of life and I have come to find a more logical and practical way of understanding the concept of reincarnation. ( my own ideas only) It doesn't require one to believe in an actual afterlife (which I don't).
If all of humanity is one, and if everything we do affects every other part of life then our previous and consequent lives are right here right now. I am the man serving life in prison for murder and I am also the saint who has given her life to help others. Does that make sense to anyone else? Its very hard to put into words. If anyone knows what I'm getting at feel free to try and explain.
