Being the one who first said the "thick skin" thing to you, I have to apologize. I thought it made sense in reference to how the person who you had talked about was a little pushy with his views but all in all without bad intentions.
I guess my choice of words could have been better instead of suggesting you were too unnecessarily sensitive. Please accept my apologies. What I wanted to suggest then was to overlook those particular annoyances of certain people. We are all trying to work out our conflicts as we move along.
I understand very well what you said about some people interrupting their communications with you after finding out your religious and political views. Don't take that as a bad sign, we are different and try to see it as a blessing. In TF we were all forced to like each other, and on a way we did. I know I did like most people I met in TF. But after leaving, I have become more my real self with the result that many people don't like me.
And many for sure don't like my politics or my religious views. It is a difficult creek to wade through for me sometimes, but that also makes the journey interesting.
