I think that after our experiences many of us can agree to the fact that spirituality is a personal thing. On the other hand, there is the body of Christi, the Church, the fellowship of the saints, etc. that point out the need for some common set of precepts and rules, sort of the characteristics that define the group of people we can recognize as "the body of Christ".

I think the dichotomy cannot be separated but how can it is reconciled?

Then we have the nagging question as to how can a group of people be recognized as "Christians". Also, can it be said that one group is "more Christian" than another?

I don't even know that these distinctions are useful for the individual. As individuals, we get together with those we find affinity and separate with those we cannot agree past a certain point of comfort. So, our group is always going to be better or more complete than other people's groups.

I am not sure I am making sense.
