That is what some Gnostic-influenced teachers taught in the early centuries, particularly Marcion and others, who "repudiated" the OT God who created the World as evil. After all, the World and flesh and physical matter was evil according to Gnostics, so how good could a God be who created all that evil? According to Gnostic teachings, your physical body is evil as are the bodies of your childen and loved ones.
Marcion and other Gnostics then believed that the "God" of the NT was a new, different God. It was an interesting attempt to align Christianity with already-existing Gnostic teachings.
I prefer the middle road. We do not exist for the flesh and sex like Berg taught, neither are these things, nor the beautiful world around us, evil, like Gnostics teach.
