you say a lot here.. more than i think i can respond to w/o losing track of my own line of thinking.

i do think that thinking about god in ways that get away from the terminology of the "old man in the white beard in the sky" religion can be helpful, freeing. reading certain of the mystics you occasionally qt stimulates and feeds my spirit as it "makes diligent search."

but to be perfectly honest, in real life situations , like a kid lost in a mall, it is not Consciousness w/ a capital "C" i'm crying out too. when faced w/ real tragedy and loss, or moments of heart to jelly fear, it is to jesus and the father, the personal god, the god who is, who speaks, and who loves me that i run to for refuge. or, when staring at the incomparable beauty we often encounter, in creation, in a new grandbaby, in the heart of our beloved, my words instinctively reach out to the triune God in praise.

i don't think jesus was "dumbing down" when he told nicodemus that we must become as a child to see the things of the kingdom. there is a science beyond science if you know what i mean. and when you speak of your feelings for jesus it feels like you do.

thanks for taking the time to respond.
