For me the question goes ultimately in the direction of either being the atheistic-type...Feuerbach as an example or rather believing, that it takes a Creator to be here etc.
I wouldn't mind to hear the "logic", that things created itself...(there are people, who want to "allow" some type of consciousness even to matter,
particles with some type of "intelligence"...
[for me that's a lame attempt,.. too lazy to get the book, where it talks about that, was it Sheldrack??] )
I mean, the second law of thermodynamics tells me, that things - in a limited system - just don't evolve to higher order, things being left to itself, rather the contrary is the case...My brother in law, who has a PhD in physics, only knew to say, that we don't know whether the universe is limited or not, whether that law could be applied to the whole universe...funny though, how scientists otherwise apply plenty if not all other laws to the universe, which they found verified down here on earth...inconsequent IMO.
To me, our concepts of God & HIS will for us personally & in general can be quite faulty at times or many times...in that sense ( I could agree) we think up at times a "wrong God".. however I am convinced, that I didn't create myself nor did things happen by chance, so that I'd be a product of chance...there are mathematicians who figured the probabilty out
for matter composing a human being by chance and that addresses just the physical/partical part, not even taken the possibilty into account, that there is very well more to it...just for that scenario you have ratios of 1 to 10 square n with n being in the area of 80 or more, don't remember...
That doesn't even answer the question, where the matter comes from...but just shows, how unlikely it is..."to pop up by chance"...ratios of that kind are simply rated by experts in that field as
not likely to be possible or rather, to have not happenened...
The probability, that you throw yourself out of the window & that by "chance" a wind catches you and brings you back is much much more likely...not to speak of lottery & all the "easy" events...
Do people really realise that???
I have no clue, why people prefer still the evolution "by chance"...
I think, some people l i k e their supposed "independence", being their own boss...they feel more comfortable with it???!!!
...by the way, my brother in law is not an
atheist but an agnostic...God could be or not, "how does he know"...
Some time ago there was a conference in Potsdam(near Berlin), where many of the most famous physicists attended...I kept the magazine
(very critical of Christianity!!!), where they commented, that, funny enough, many/most of the outstanding physical scientists had some form of believe in God, a higher power
It appears, that people less smarter than they are
would much easier like to "explain" a world without a concept of God...
The fool says, there is no God...
However, the very smart non-believers are heartily invited to explain the matter to me, so that I could "profit from it"!!!(of course, with the chance, that "I am not smart enough, to understand it")
