I was just thinking that if the Bible is the Word of God, shouldn't it have been simpler for us lowly humans to understand? But instead it is rather confusing with inconsistencies, or the language not being clear enough, which is why we have so many different factions stemming out of the same book, with each faction completely sure of their interpretation of the Bible?
I get what you say about praying for things within God's will, but like you said, John clarifies this point in his epistle, but what about the other locations where it isn't so clear? It gets confusing and perhaps this is where verse is taken out of context, misused and misunderstood.
And for sure it's a good thing that not everything we pray for happens, otherwise we may all be republicans, or Catholics...
If the Bible is the handbook of an entire religious order (actually for more than one religious order) and through the Bible you are supposed to gain a certain power, maybe it should have been written more like a schoolbook, rather than a collection of stories and lessons?
