I like your rambling. It makes a lot of sense to me. When it came to prayer I was a Berg clone. I really thought God had to do what I commanded Him to do, and I'd use Berg's way of praying things in my own prayers, after all he said we're all 'little Davids', so I had to live up to that. It still makes me shudder to see how brainwashed I was.
On the subject of security and needs and wants: in a normal home no one had to take personal responsibility for paying the bills, making sure we all had enough to eat, enough clothes to wear, and money enough for video nite. It was dependence on the group and the group-think. This was united prayer to command God to supply, and some people provisioning, others sending prayer letters, others selling tapes, CDs, videos, and lit, etc. (of course during the FFing years it was the FFers and ESers doing most of the money making for the homes with a lot of the daddies on childcare.) Actually in the single family homes people learned a lot more about responsibility and being independent. No wonder Berg put and end to people living independently.
