Thank's for your advice. As for trying to make them aware of the truth I think it's a case of them being unwilling or unable to face up to the fact that we were well and truly duped. I know how hard it was for me to face up to the fact that it was all based upon a monstrous deception, l always thought that l was one of the sharpest tools in the box and couldn't possibly be conned. However, it was only when l acknowledged that painful reality that l was able to break free completetly from any lingering influences.
As for alerting the authorities it's a very tough call. i am pretty sure that the kids are not registered with any social, educational or local sevices. In short officially they don't exist and l am worried that if l make their situation known it may open a whole can of worms that could make the situation worse. I must also add here that the couple in question are not "bad" parents and genuinely love their kids.
