Ivan takes me back to 1972

When I joined the Family. East Coast, New Haven, Conn. There were major storm systems that hit the coast that spring and summer. The End Time was surely near, because the wind and rain were the worst I'd seen in a lifetime (all of 20 years).

I was trained by the folk out of Ellenville, NY. Folk who knew Mo personally. Folk who knew about the secret sex doctrines.

Fast forward to 2004: I've been reading the latest edition of National Geographic. It's all about global warming. It talks about storms of a lifetime. It talks about the end of the world as I knew it growing up. A world where polar icecaps were a certain size no longer in existence. A world where wild weather patterns aren't explained every year as a consequence of El Nino.

But El Nino is a pattern over the Pacific. What is this wild, crazy energy-spirit from the Southern Atlantic Sea? Charles, Frances, Ivan...and soon Jeanne and (maybe) Georges. Holy Mother of God. Yes, I believe it is the Star of the Sea who rules that ocean, while her Son, El Nino, rules the more peaceful sea to the west. There is some wisdom in this blending of Native American and Christian tradition.

I watch the signs of heaven and I ponder their meaning. Is the world as I know it ending?

Oh God of Mercy, I pray for the people in Mobile, Pensacola & New Orleans. They are my blood kin. Yemayah se su!
