The Family did preach that stuff about not worrying about tomorrow, etc.. but in my opinion it was for one thing a cop-out. We weren't taught to take responsible steps to prepare for growing up, getting older--lack of proper education, lack of retirement preparation are a couple examples. It was more with an abandon of the things that would eventually come upon us that the Family conveniently threw out.
On the other hand, I don't know about anyone else, but I was under a constant dread of the 'future', in otherwords, Heaven. The thought of failure here on earth, not doing my best, not being all I could be, drove me to accomplish and work hard, and yet put me under an almost constant worry and strain.
It didn't add up, the Family didn't actually live in the moment, they lived in their fantasy future.
