it sometimes strikes me that part of the problem stems from the way in which cultic abuse (and some other high control situations in life) can hollow out words of there true meaning and load them up with a redefined content to use to manipulate. hence, when someone who may have processed their experience differently than someone else uses a word, another person might still see that word w/ it's altered cultic content and intent, and it triggers a very negative response. but in reality, it is a case sort of like what they used to say about the british and americans... 2 peoples divided by a common language.
