I agree, MG! And I would go one step further- just because Berg said it, I don't necessarily throw it out. For instance, Berg said, "Love has an extra spiritual eye that sees the good and possibilities that others cannot see." This is one of my favorite sayings that has stuck with me, and I have not thrown it out simply because Berg said it. I have no idea if it was original to him or not, and I don't really care. I have examined it personally, believe it, and, most importantly to me, I find that when I keep that principle in mind it improves my life.
This is what I am so thankful to now have- the right to make these values decisions on my own, without coercion of any kind. That's the all important difference, to me!
