I am not much into help books but my daughter insisted I read The Celestine Prophecy. Not too well written but interesting principles. What strikes me most is the generalities in some of the mystical principles it lays down. They are universal (respect, open mindness, awareness, etc.) but it also strikes me as similar to other books that promote positive thinking.

I never saw myself as a positive thinker until somebody else mentioned that to me many years ago. Since then I have been conscious about it and tried to maintain that outlook. I can say that, if nothing else, just being positive and expecting good things, is a quality I would love owning.

My days are a lot better when I am in my positive self than when something negative is looming over me. I try to convert it into a bad experiences into positive ones - which is exactly what that book mentions one should do.

Maybe I should read more of them. Or just keep striving for more positive thinking by avoiding negative things, people, events, etc. Hard to do though when one must interact with the world.

Any suggestions?
