I guess you are talking about the main character? I read the book when I was 12, then when I was 17, then when I was 23 before going to Europe to meet my fate in the COG. That character came back to me a few days after I left the COG. I had peace in my heart that I was doing the right thing, just like he did in NY. Since then I never read it again, only watched the movie. Not the same but good enough to trigger good memories. I do see my walk in TF as a positive and necessary experience for me. Some went through war to find peace, I went through TF.
