As I say, my writing ain't that good, neither is my English but I still play pool...
I don't do books and narratives, maybe one day. I have a couple of ideas. I write boring things, like reports and the such. It helps to have an editor.
What I would recommend is to look for a book called The Writer's Market. It lists publishers and for the most part accurately describes what you will need to do with each one of them. The norm is to send them an overview of the book plus a chapter sample. If they like it, they will tell you. There was a time when I wanted to be a publisher, I may still do it. Poetry is a good thing.
Cold calling a potential publisher might also work when you find a publisher you thinkmight want your genre. If they like what you have they might send you an advanced payment, but it most likely not happen at first - unless you are super good. Maybe you are. I'd say, test the waters.
An idea: What about a photo narrative of your travels, one of them.
