Right after Jane left The Family she got involved with Amway. I got sucked in right after she did. I can definately tell you that many of the manipulative practices used by cults are used in organizations like Amway.
The way it normally works, is you are approached by a friend or family member. They are convinced themselves that if they can get six of their "friends, relatives or acquaintences" to become distributors that they can make a fortune working only a few hours a week.
Of course, this all depends on the six getting another six, and all those six getting six more.
I know this by heart, I used to lead Amway meetings for a time.
My advice if a friend, relative or acquaintence wants to talk to you about Amway or any MLM? RUN!
