I know we need to "roll away the stones" and do the work and not sit around expecting God to do miracles to make our life easy.

But I'm also asking about how much we can reasonably expect God to do in our everyday lives. I do see miracles happen in answer to prayer, but just as often I don't. That shows me, contrary to what Berg stated, God is not a "genii in a bottle" and that we cannot command him ("command ye me" should literally read, "and will you command me?").

So often good people suffer, health or family problems or whatever, while across the road someone else lives in ease with never a hiccup in their lives. Is God unfair? I don't think so. But can the non-suffering affluent person say he's on easy road because of God's "blessing" or does "time and chance happen to them all" with the race not being to the swife, the battle to the strong, etc.

God can do miracles, but how much can we reasonably "command" him to do to keep his "promises"? I think "God is in heaven and you on earth, so let your words be few"---especially words of commanding God around.
