in the moments when i am most awake to reality, it strikes me that this current phase is pretty foggy.. with occasional moments of clarity. growth tends towards greater clarity and less fog.. the temporal being a poor shadow of the eternal. this is one reason that, altho certain aspects of buddhism hold some appeal to me, the metaphysics of it strike me as at odds w/ reality. imo.
