If I believed that enduring the pain was going to bring me a step closer to that, wouldn't it make it all worthwhile?
Of course I'm not saying that enduring needless pain brings you closer to God.(get to a dentist!)
When I was in South East Asia, I did not find many who were "content" with the idea of what happens to them according to their theology (Hindu's, Buddhist, Taoist) They liked the idea of their uniqueness being preserved and God loving them and accepting them and heaven.
Of course I never did a survey, and only spoke to people I personally came in contact with, so I could not say this is a fair representation of all the people in the region!
