Demands on God.

I believe in praying and meditating. But I don’t believe in getting too specific.

For example, I have had more than one friend lately who’s needed treatment and or an operation for cancer. I send as many positive thoughts and energy their way as I can. I pray they’ll beat it and recover. But it’s qualified with the premise “if it’s your will”. I’m convinced that it’s not my place to be presumptuous and assume that it’s God’s will for them to recover, or to even suggest or hint that.

But a lot of people do that, they make demands on God, they presume to know God’s will for someone else, they insist that it’s God’s will for them to be healed. It’s gotta be a certain way and no other. They quote Bible verses to say that it's not God's will for the person to have the illness and He'd rather heal. But I think that’s wrong.
