Okay, here's my serious answer!
My mother (not TF, this was in the 1960's!) taught BOTH my brother and I that it is never okay to complain (we were not allowed to use words like "bitch" and I still don't). We could point out problems as long as we also suggested solutions. Her edicts on this subject were the same for both her son and daughter.
And I think she was right! My Mom was a pretty wise lady...
