I guess I find it easier to be more specific when I pray for myself, I try not to go around looking for the answer, not do I wait for an answer. In fact what I prefer is to be able to look back in the recent past to see how things worked out knowing that the resolutions have been for the best.
One thing for sure I don't do at all anymore is any of the "the Lord showed me" method of operation. I see that as totally illogical and a sure way of shutting the door to having the best solutions. I think praying and then going on the presumption of certain "answers" and then holding up the "Lord showed me" banner, is the opposite of truly praying "your will not mine be done".
