This is so true. And then they have the nerve in a recent pub to accuse the SGs of losing faith. What did they expect?
Remember the ML way back when Berg said that the churches lost such a big percentage of their youth but that the Family would do so much better? And when he and Maria later saw that their own kids were questioning the Family's belief system, they were determined NOT to "lose" them, but to hold onto them at all costs, so they instituted the Victor Camps to beat and abuse and shame and rebuke them back to faith.
They couldn't get the SGs to beleive their incredible crap voluntarily, so they decided to force and shove it down their throats through fear and shaming. They physically beat them with wooden paddles with love-hearts carved into them to create heartshaped welts. The cast the so-called "demons" of doubt (actually a functioning mind) out of them. Hell! What kind of reaction did they expect? Bastards.
I'm a Christian but my sympathies are entirely on the side of SGs when it comes to this matter. If I had ever been part of the Victor Camp prison system oppressing SGs I'd be feeling horribly conscience-stricken right now. Thank God I wasn't.
