Well, my husband was never a real "sold-out" Family member... to my dismay! He always read his Bible! He even wanted to lower our "status" a few years before we finally left, but I defended my opinion that we should stay at the TOP! God, I was so BLIND!
So, when the scales came off of my eyes, he could readily go along with my changes. He knew "in his heart"... but he couldn't argue with me... English isn't his first language! Poor guy. So, he stuck around to stay with me.
He didn't consciously know why he didn't feel sold-out to the Family's doctrine, but he had a gut feeling.
When we both "saw the light"... we felt so liberated!!!!!
I wonder how many non-American's sort of just stuck around??
