I was talking to my significant other just yesterday who was having a tiny crisis of faith fretting over personal income, or the lack thereof, wondering how the next need was going to be met. I said, "He hasn't failed us yet," and went on to explain that we could get steady jobs and trust that the factory or the emplyer was going to stay in business, or we could advertise ourselves and trust that we'd get calls for our skills and services. Either way, we were going to have to have faith.

We got busy advertizing and, the Lord be thanked, got immediate work to pay for our immediate needs. Advertizing really does pay:

"Man with truck! Call Alf at 432-6634!"

Alf gets a call. Alf hauls furniture for widow. Widow tells neighbor. Neighbor calls Alf. Alf hires wife. Widow's neighbors tell their neighbors. Alf hires wife and kids. Alf neigbor's neighbors tell their neighbors. Alf gets another truck. Alf keeps getting calls. Alf gets a few more trucks. Alf hires drivers and a manager. Alf retires wife. Alf gets more trucks. Alf hires more drivers and more managers. Alf takes wife to the Bahamas. Alf takes wife to Hawaii. Alf takes wife around the world. Smart Alf.
