It is not my intention to offend anyone in the Catholic Church. One of my dearest friends is a worship leader in a local Catholic Church. He is born again, and highly respected as a godly Christian man. When I was down and out the Lord put this saint in my path. He gave me a job, helped me to get back on my feet spiritually and taught me many things about the Lord. (Not by by words only, but by his example.) It is possible to be born again, love Jesus and yet not be where He would want you serving Him. We all learned that the hard way in the COG. The stakes are very high indeed and so we cannot allow any man to subvert our allegiance to Jesus Christ. The things we suffered through the COG proves that God won't tolerate our having any other gods beside Him.
Exodus 20:3-6
(3)Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
(4)Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
(5)Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
(6)And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
It is my prayer that no ex-COG member will prove to have suffered all those things for nothing.
(ps The verse above, about bowing before idols was removed from the Catholic bibles and then one of the other commandments was split in two to make it appear there were still ten.)
Now that is really scary. And this is even scarier.

Jesus said, "If ye love me keep MY commandments."
The Lord Jesus grant unto you that you be completely healed of the spiritual abuse that you suffered in the COG. Your brother and servant in Christ Jesus, Bryon
