Because the "Jesus Revolution" was something actually initiated prior to Berg by many including David Wilkerson who spearheaded a witnessing movement in New York and converted Nikky Cruz, a reknowed gang leader turned Christian evangelist, and because there was knowledge about one group to another there were associations in that way.
Also, COG absorbed many Jesus movements during a phase of divide and concquer where they became friends with different leaders of groups, treated them like kings or queens, absorbed much of their membership and later discarded most of their leaders. Some of these groups incorporated into the family were House of Judah, Jesus People Army.

I understand that Berg knew others as well but they parted because of doctrines.

Since the COG started, there have been some offshoots as some have mentioned. The only one I am aware of personally is "The Jesus Christians" whose leader uses many similar family doctrines and puts his own twist to his cult. They donate body parts for Jesus.
