I remember first reading that letter and being apalled with its harshness, but then feeling "who was I to question the all-wise prophet?" AARGH. Such a stupid, blind follower!
Reading excerpts from it later in James Penn's letter was a turning point for me. Having the blessing of years of distance between myself and TF gave me more clarity of visiion. Seeing how heartless Berg and Zerby are makes me so ashamed to have followed them for years, holding to the attitude of just being glad I wasn't the one pinpointed in any letter and doing my best to be a good little disciple. It was a terrible and selfish decision on my part.
You wife's attack was not your fault - and certainly not because you were IRFers. That is a lie. That evil accusation was just a ploy by Berg to scare his followers into continuing in implicit obedience to his every rant and whim. You were the unfortunate victim.
I'm so sorry for you and the horror you went through. I pray you and your children can find closure and peace and enjoy the remainder of your lives.
