For what it is worth, I believe that his beret was a very dark navy blue not black. But then maybe it just the light in the hallway. I met David Berg briefly, as he arrived in Mont Royal?, Quebec, but was rudely told, 'Don't you have something you could be doing?' by one of the house leaders. At the time I thought that he (Mo) was some eccentric wino they had met while out witnessing. He looked just like the Maharishi Yogi, so spaced out with a big smile on his face. He had a powerful demon spirit in him even back then. This was in the mansion outside of Montreal 71/72? Can't be quite sure of the name of that town. Mont or Mount Royal, something or other? Anyone know the place I am referring to? Anyone out there know who owned that house. (If I recall correctly the owner was living in Europe at the time.)(Perhaps the Bromly factory owner?) It was quite the stately home, even had a small chapel built into it. I was very curious back then about the contrast between the Spartan conditions we were living in and the fact that we were dwelling in a small mansion. Aside from the bossy attitudes that some leaders were developing, and some of the strange things Mo was saying in the letters, I didn't find anything amiss, and the strict rules (IE. No marriage unless you had been in the COG at least a year.) certainly threw me off about any actual sexual impropriety. What really spooked me, and was one contributing factor to my leaving was the whispering going on among the leadership. My departure from the COG was rather strange. I was in a Newfoundland outport(A previously abandoned fishing village.)normally assessed by a long trek through some swampy terrain, or 30-40 minutes by trawler boat to a nearby town. I wasn't getting along with some of the leaders and decided to get out. I planned it, so that, the colony would only be informed a short time before the provision boat arrived, to give the colony leaders less time to try and talk me out of leaving. (Which really wasn't easy because there were people crying and begging me to stay.)(I felt like my heart was being torn out of me.) (I thought about Jonah, while I was traveling on the boat, and that really scared me, because I believed I was seriously letting the Lord down. (The cult's mind control program consisted of a doctrine, 'that to disobey the leaders was the same as disobeying God'.) After having left, I soon met a couple of young men who told me I could spend the winter in a little cabin that they had built about ten? miles from a small town. I managed to raise a few dollars to buy provisions and set up in the cabin. It was a wonder, I didn't lose it altogether, during that winter. At times I was so tormented in spirit,I thought the Lord and the Devil were actually fighting over who would kill me first. The only time I got any relief was when I prayed and spent hours reading the Bible, but even then I was puzzled; when I was comforted by the Holy Spirit. (That was because the Devil kept telling me that the Lord hated my guts.)( Man, it was just unbelievable, how gulliable I was back then.) The Lord said, "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee." He always remains the same;-faithful. If anyone out there can help me find out the hidden financiers to Mo's mission turned brothel, I intend to put together an article on such, but give them ample opportunity to respond in their own defense.(ps. Some were born again Christians (In the system, as Mo would put it), and probably were taken in by Mo's story, just as we were, but some definately were not in it, to further the spread of the gospel. Mo certainly had some very wealthy fiends. And no, that is not a misspelling.
