Hi Joshua, That's right, the Lord is shortly going to make not only the Family disappear into perdition, but the entire world that refuses to depart from their evil ways. That part though about him, manipulating, "young hippies, innocent enough to follow his evil deeds!". I don't think so. While I can't speak for everyone, mind you: But I was anything but - innocent. The main reason we could be manipulated the way we were, was because of the selfish ways of our own hearts. The cult played upon our pride, (Revolutionaries for Jesus!)our laziness in letting others do our thinking, and our negligence in taking responsibility for our own lives. Mo simply took our proud rebellious, lazy and irresponsible attitudes and used those levers to mico manage our lives to the point where, 'We thought we were God's chosen endtime stormtroopers', but in reality we were saluting an anti-christ. - Seig Heil! Seig Heil! Moses David. And if you think we were stupid, just watch as the whole world bows down before the coming counterfeit Christ.
As long as we allow sin to reign in our hearts, the devil will find a way to leaven the lump to the point where he will have us bowing at his feet,(The spirit of selfishness.) while commending ourselves as great ones. The bible says," He is king over all the children of pride."
While Mo used and twisted our good intentions for his own selfish aggrandizement, the tools he used to do the twisting were our own pride , ignorance, and lusts. The Lord says in one place,'My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.'. Hopefully we are learning, that without Jesus reigning in our hearts, we have no problem at all in corrupting ourselves. The victim mentality, 'poor me' sin-drum that is considered popular fare among them of the world, while it can be anesthetized by covering it over with self esteem and pride, however will, without the only real physician of souls - Jesus, cause them to nevertheless die in their sins. Only the blood of Jesus Christ can cleanse from sin, and only the power of God can rebuild us. In psalm 23 it is written, "He restoreth my soul."
The attempts we ourselves make to restore our own souls can produce some very strange creatures indeed. Something like a two year old trying to put together a complex model with glue. Yuk!
The Lord bless you Joshua and fill you with His joy and peace. Your brother, Bryon
