just read Wild Swans if you want to find out what life under Mao was and is like for communist women. And those "under paid" immigrants coming from their countries are treated miserably by their own governments and their culture down south is very abusive of women. Just because Mexico is predominantly Catholic doesn't mean the problem is Catholic because it is evident of their culture, not their religion. Me thinks the above poster is mixing up oranges and apples.
