For those who wish to call into question the validity of the Bible in general and the New Testament in particular, it makes tactical sense to focus your attack on the author of nearly 80% of the New Testament.
These attacks on Apostle Paul are not new; they began with the Gnostics, and have been parroted by many other false teachers over the ages.
David Berg also attacked Paul for reasons now obvious to many exers.
When you dig down to the root of it, you find the originator asking Eve, "Hath God said?"
