Speaking of Books

The book I just finished was very uplifting. It was part of the Modern Christian Writers course I just finished. We read books in different genre of literature. The Hobbit by Tolkein, The Four Quartets by T.S. Eliot, The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis, Peace Like a River by Lief Enger, and finally A Prisoner and Yet by Corrie Ten Boom. Such a woman of God was Corrie Ten Boom, one who was definitly persecuted for righteousness sake, and one who kept her faith when going through hell. The whole book was great and one should aspire to be like Corrie, but the last line of the book really sums it up."Clouds, too, can give light if only the sun shines on them." Another quote that spoke to me was some of the last words spoken by Betsie, Corrie's sister right before she died in Ravensbruck Concentration Camp,She said, “. . . must tell people what we learned here. We must tell them that there is no pit so deep that He is not deeper still. They will listen to us, Corrie, because we have been here.” You want to talk about healing balm this is it. Most of the book I read out loud to my wife during which we spent more than a few misty times.
