Hey Perry, it's not a personal attack on you or your beliefs or your way of relating to the world. The key phrases in relation to what you say here are 'so far' and 'However, if anyone knows of any empirical evidence to disprove this please let me know'.

Discussion [and this is a discussion board isn't it?]is about sharing information, looking at things from different angles - and trying not to be defensive or feel attacked when someone demonstrates a different view point.

Your quote from the book resonated with some of the research I am undertaking and I thought I would share it.

Perry, having quietly read the threads posted on these boards for the last few months I have come to appreciate your wit and the cut and thrust of your arguements - one of the reasons I posted this. It wasn't intended as an attack on you, your personal stance or your belief system.

My 'position' is; what does the research say and I welcome challange. Especially a well thought out reasoned challange. If it teaches me something new all the better.
