Walking the Christian path as well as faith in Jesus Christ shouldn't be triggered by wars and natural disasters. Lately I've tried "running with patience".
However ignoring conspiracy and doomsday theories isnt easy. And Julian Simon helped little or nothing at all in that his economical reasoning is tenuous, absurd and his premise insane.
Its not even the lack of violence that would make me feel safe. No, its the Group of people that have the power to keep it that way that make me tremble with doubt. The indifference society has always had toward suffering and death while our billionaires are playing the silent sentinels and the way a human life is worth the taxes it pays... adding a little world history on the whole thing and the fact there's enough weapons to blow the planet a couple times over is enough to shatter my hope of a utopia. "These weapons are in safe hands". Yeah right. Being in TF has taught me that there aren't any.
I've learned that life hangs on a piece of thread.
Those that have lost a loved one or a close friend at an unexpected time know what I mean. History has taught me that peace like life also hangs. Peace however on a thinner piece of thread.
But even if peace where to be accomplished it would only make me wonder even more. The planet has been trough enough already. Those who overlook the past are the insensitive.
People saying "Peace and Safety" is what would really get me going. I just don't think they're in a position to say so.
