Environmental change is real and it's scary stuff. I suppose global warming has some good aspects -- we may get to live in Antarctica before the Millennium. (Remember those Family comics?)

But what saddens me is that now in an age when we have so much good technology and helpful medications and stuff, we're still acting like irresponsible kids, trashing the very world we live in. Jesus said, "Occupy till I come," not trash the place because I'm coming.

When I think of the plastics filling the oceans, fertilizers and heavy chemicals pouring by the tons into the oceans, acid rain and every other thing happening, destruction of species and major forests, it's very depressing.

People who say, "Jesus is coming and will fix things" are in denial. What if the Lord delays? Which I suspect he will. Then we've got a polluted world to sleep in. Not that Christians are doing all the polluting, but the view that we can pollute and it doesn't matter is holding back millions of people from doing all they can to responsibly care for and save this world.

Another case of selfish people using "doctrines" to justify their trashy lifestyle.
