I was going to acting school in Hollywood in 1977 when the original Star Wars came out. Mark Hamill had just graduated from the same school a couple of years before. So, everyone I knew was out of their minds about the release of the movie.
I remember standing in line on Hollywood Blvd, at the Grahman's Chinease Theater with a bunch of my classmates from the school to see the film when it opened. Wow... that was 28 years ago. It's amazing that people are still lining up for it.
Anyway... back on topic... there were people I knew back then who tried to form the whole "Force" think into a new age religion. I don't know if they are still out there with that kind of thing, but in Hollywood in 1977 you ran into that along with a lot of other wacky stuff.
