I can relate to what you're saying.
This morning I came across this Latin proverb: Ubi dubium ibi libertas - Where there is doubt, there is freedom.
The doctrine that doubt is a major sin, which is reinforced over and over again in TF, kept me in chains for many years. It was only when I began to surreptitiously explore my doubts that I began the slow awakening back to self-consciousness, i.e., self-contemplating, and the realization that I had made a horrible mistake in devoting my life to the ravings of a madman.
