I think it's more just a growing awakening. Watching the news, hearing about ozone depletion and global warming (it's for real), about the shrinking rain forests, about the polluted rivers and dead lakes, plastic particles infesting plankton in the middle of the ocean, shrinking world resources with a huge and growing world population, deforestation of the Himalyas causing floods in Bangla Desh, deforestation of Haiti washing the remaining soil into the ocean, all that is enough to make most people want to conserve what's left.
Berg always taught, "Things have to get a lot worse before they can get better, so if the world is going to hell it just shows that Jesus is coming soon." Then he'd quote secular reports saying, "Even scientists say world resources can't last much longer." So when I say I hate that attitude, it was these quotes from Berg I had specifically in mind. But unfortunately, that attitude was not restricted to Berg.
I only thank God that many Christians are finally waking up and seeing the need to save the earth.
