According to some people whose churches were destroyed or whose good christian parishioners died, it would be called an attack of the devil.
[DISCLAIMER: I do realize not all Christians think like this, but some do]
To those same people it was an act of God because it crumpled and destroyed the booming casino business in Biloxi, and any major city would be considered God coming to kill them for its inherent "sinfulness".
Personally, I regard it as an act of nature. I don't think that Katrina had angels flapping wings saying "k, god, now where do you want to kill people now?"
Further, the disaster was so bad because of the CAT5 strength of the storm, the levees not made to withstand it and the levees causing the sinking bowl effect.
I am leaving out the politics here. I just think that a storm hit a major city with a lot of color and character and devastated it. I think most Americans feel the devastation to some degree as we all felt part of the devastation of 9/11.
imo, Did God do it? nah. Did the devil do it? nah.
