It was in Hong Kong that I met him. I actually considered him one of the good guys, who was operating as independantly as possible from the mess that was in Hong Kong.
To keep up with the high living costs, basically all the field homes (apart from the large concentration of WS units) had their women go out doing "massage" services.
You may not know about this, but FFing gradually turned into escort services, and in Hong Kong, it was replaced with pure prostitution, as in show up, no chit chat, give the guy sex, get paid, leave. It was all good according to Berg, and besides seeing the dough roll in. FOr the stats collection, he made it so that each man who received "God's love" was automatically witnessed to.
It sounds like you went through a lot of horrible things with Gideon (?), but the reason I thought he was one of the good guys, is, Gideon didn't yield to any of the pressure to send his new partner out for "massage" serices. Instead he went out litnessing and busking, and worked very hard to make ends meet. It's quite possible that Gideon became a wiser person because of his time with you.
At one point about 1984 I think, his new partner Jan was pregnant, and Gideon had a goitre, which was really a shock for him, because he'd taken pride in being one of the healthiest eaters in the world, and a goitre is usually associated with lack of iodine.
To be honest, I couldn't stand his off key singing style, and he considered himself like a Bob Dylan or something. I thought he was a bit strange, but not necessarily in a bad way. More like he had a lot of integrity. He stuck to his convictions even if it cost him less acceptance among his peers.
We lost contact from moving around, and soon after, "persecution" hit HK, and everyone had to leave.
I'd be happy to help you with whatever I know, but I don't think I know too much.
