I understand what you're saying, Observer, but if I remember correctly from my quick scan of those moon letters (I don't want to go looking for it again because I can't stand wading through that lunacy more than I have to)Berg ended at least some of the paragraphs where he talked about a literal hell in the centre of the earth with verses from Revelations. He may have wrote that ex cathedra, as you suggest, but stamping the doctrine with the authority of the Bible was just as good as saying, "you better believe me or else." Berg had bible-thumping fear-mongering down to an art.
Also, as I was skimming I noticed that at times Berg wrote as if he was already inside the moon in the HC. In other words, he was on a spirit trip, which is really not much different than claiming that he received that nonsense by way of prophecy.
Though I may not have known much of the real science involved, I knew intuitively that what he was saying about the earth and moon both being hollow, and literally occupied by sinners and saints respectively, couldn't be true. Those moon letters solidified all my growing doubts about Berg, and precipitated my spiritual crisis that had begun sometime earlier with some maltreatment by leadership and after witnessing the treatment some teens, including Mene, received at Macau.
